Amy Whittenburg

Amy loves to tap into her creative side and has taken the lead in creating the mosaicHUB design. Amy is an entrepreneur at heart and founded Toot Design Inc., a design firm specializing in brand identity management and print and interactive design solutions. Prior to founding Toot Design, Amy co-founded a full service Internet development firm, served as Creative Director of Intranet Web Design for The Boston Globe and The New York Times Company and was Design Director of Palm Beach Life Magazine. 

 

Amy Woodcox Bio

Prior to founding Toot Design Inc, Amy had co-founded a full service Internet development firm in 1999.  Through August of 2001, she was charged with building a premium creative practice for this Internet development company. With an excellent reputation in both interactive media design and print, her creative leadership played an important role in developing many of the organization's internal and external processes and best practices for branding, information architecture, user interface and design.

Previously, Amy was the Creative Director of Web Design for The Boston Globe, now a member of the New York Times Company. During her tenure, she was responsible for designing the Globe's award winning and internationally acclaimed intranet and extranet. Amy was also charged with creating the user interface and design for two generations of The New York Times Company intranet and an initial prototype for The NYT Company Investor site. In 1996, she was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award by the publisher of The Boston Globe.

Earlier in her career, Amy held the position of Marketing Design Manager at The Palm Beach Post, a Cox Communications company. Here, she led an award winning team of designers and was recognized as an industry leader by the International Newspaper Marketing Association. Amy also held the position of Design Director with Palm Beach Life Magazine, another Cox Communications company. As Design Director, she oversaw all creative direction for the magazine and art directed world-class photographers on location to create sophisticated imagery that appealed to the magazine's highly educated and upscale audience.

Prior to joining Cox Communications, Amy designed adult and children's books for Little Brown publishers, Houghton Mifflin and Addison Wesley. 

Amy’s work and clients include: American Airlines, Microsoft, Intuit, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Fannie Mae, American Airlines, JP Morgan Chase, Johnson & Johnson, Colgate, J. Wiley & Sons, Harvard University, the USTA, The US Olympic Committee, Massachusetts Housing Authority, Sodexo, Thomson Learning Company,  Mission Bay Aquatic Training Center, FIRST Lego League.

Pro bono and volunteer work includes

Hospice of Greater Lynn, The Red Cross of Greater Boston Youth Talent Show – Haiti Earthquake Response, HODR (Hands on Disaster Response), Home Again – Only a Home Ends Homelessness, Hamilton Wenham Little League, Mass. Audubon Little River Herring Project.

Amy holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst.  She currently works from her design studio in Hamilton, Massachusetts on Boston’s North Shore.

 

Kerry Armstrong - Social Media/Marketing Intern

Kerry grew up in Ipswich, MA.  She attended Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and received her Bachelors degree in Sociology in 2012.  She is passionate about food, healthy living, and overall well being.  She spends her time volunteering, running, singing, and playing the ukulele.  She is known as a turtle enthusiast, a baker, and a music lover.

 

Ryan Smith- Social Media/Marketing Intern

Ryan recently graduated from Salem State University with his Bachelors in History, with a minor in advertising.  He is a vegetarian and tries to eat as organic and local as possible. He has spent many years volunteering for the Malden Irish American Club, and he was heavily involved in his campus community.  Is his free time, Ryan likes to write poetry, ride his bike and listen to music.  Ryan

will attend Creation Fest this summer; his first music festival.   

 

Kate Donellan- Social Media/Marketing Intern

Kate is a junior at Saint Anselm College in Maine where she is a Communications major.  She's recently worked at The Green Elephant toy shop, which happens to be right across the street from Healthstarts.  Kate volunteers with the Child and Family Services in Manchester, NH, working with homeless and at risk clients from the ages of twelve to twenty-two.  She has also worked at the Saint Anselm College Meelia Center where she planned weekly activities for at risk young adults and coordinated volunteer activities. Kate is also a member of the Campus Activities Board at Saint Anselm, where she works with fellow students to plan and coordinate various campus events.

 

Ali Gerry- Social Media/Marketing Intern

Ali grew up in Stoneham MA and she is currently a junior majoring in Communications at UMass Amherst.  Ali has interned at the Massachusetts State House, under the direction of Senator Katherine Clark where she was responsible for helping the Senator go green under the “Boston Go Green” project.  Ali also spent the summer of 2010 in Peru helping build a chapel and working with the local children.  She will participate in her first 5k this summer at the Color Me Rad race in Boston.

 

Sue Love- Sales & Account Representative

Sue is a health and wellness enthusiast.  She is a busy mother of three but she still finds time to bike, run, kayak, and eat healthy.  She taught tennis for 15 years in the Hamilton-Wenham region and she also works in life science.  She currently works at the Manchester Athletic Club and has started her work in sales at healthstarts.

 

Leland Woodcox- Social Media/Marketing Intern

Leland is a junior at University of Massachusetts in Lowell with a focus in political science and international relations. He hopes to join the Peace Corps upon graduating. Leland is an avid cyclist, swimmer, and outdoorsman. He works at Dawson's Hardware in north Beverly where he sells soils and fertilizers. He does a great deal of work outdoors and enjoys gardening. Leland also has some cooking experience and enjoys creating healthy meals for his friends and family.
